CLI and MCP tools#
astra metis manages knowledge bases from a terminal, in the organisation,
workspace and cluster you chose with astra use
(Install the CLI).

astra metis get <name>#
Its state and why, totals (documents, chunks, failures), the current pass's
progress, the machine it runs on and the last evaluation. --json: all of
it.
astra metis documents <name>#
The documents its index has seen, with their chunks, and why the others
could not be read. --failed: only those; --prefix P: only those under
a folder.

Each result shows its score, its citation (document, page or headings, line) and its passage.

astra metis delete <name>#
Deletes the knowledge base and its index. The documents stay on their drives; its deployments stay.
MCP tools#
An AI assistant connected to Astralyx
(Connect your AI assistant) has two tools
for knowledge bases, in the metis toolset (on by default):
