Ways to install#

Every way runs your work on your machines: models, data, files and logs stay on them. What changes is where the cluster is kept — the service that knows your machines, schedules work on them and answers the console.

The two ways#

Astralyx keeps the cluster — the default. You install the agent on each machine with the command the console gives you; Astralyx keeps the cluster for you. Nothing to run or update besides your machines.

Your servers keep the cluster. You install Astralyx's services on one of your Linux servers with one command and a key from the console; your machines join that cluster. The console and the app reach it through a connection your server opens.

Coming soon#

The same choices, made simpler — and one more:

  • Apps for Mac and Windows, and a page in your browser on Linux. Install with one command or two clicks, sign in, and choose how to use the machine. No token to copy, no address to type. The app reads your hardware and suggests what it can run. Machines of every kind — a Mac mini, a Windows PC, a Linux server — join the same cluster.
  • Keep everything at home. Your own machine keeps a private cluster: nothing you run reaches the internet, not even in transit; you use it from your network or your VPN, in a page the cluster serves itself. Astralyx keeps only your sign-in and billing. The phone app and Telegram are then off, unless you turn them on.

Which one?#

  1. Do you want to run nothing but your machines? Let Astralyx keep the cluster.
  2. Must the record of what runs stay in your house — names of runs and models, their history — or do you have hundreds of machines? Use your own servers.
  3. Not sure? Start with Astralyx keeping the cluster. The agent, the console and your work are the same either way; moving to your own servers later is installing them and joining your machines to the new cluster.
